The
Ecomesh Solution
Why
Choose Ecomesh ?
 The
Changing Business Environment.
Ecomesh has recognised the problems that face the construction
and waste disposal industries in the currently changing business
environment. Increasing legislation towards the reduction of the
amount of material going to landfill, increasing eco-taxation
and rising costs of transport and disposal make traditional methods
unsustainable.
Ecomesh offers a cost effective and lower risk solution for remediating
contaminated soil and waste, allowing the opportunity to redevelop
contaminated ‘brownfield’ building sites for residential
and commercial purposes.

 Contamination
Risk Management.
The widely accepted source, pathway and receptor risk model is
used to determine pathway interception and treatment. The problem
with waste is not just having somewhere to put it, nor is it just
working out how to treat it and turn it back into usable material.
It is also a matter of prevening the spread of pollution in the
form of leached out chemicals that migrate into the surrounding
soil, and the prevention of groundwater contamination.
This applies not only to brownfield sites where the contaminated
soil is present, but also to new landfill sites dealing with imported
waste or older landfill sites where treatment is ongoing. The pollution
has to be quarantined, leachate pathways have to be intercepted,
and the contamination treated. Ecomesh can do it all.

 Contaminated
Land Remediation.
We live in an environment with a legacy of Industrial contamination
and we have a duty to prevent future pollution of our valuable
natural resources. Ecomesh can help. Traditionally dig and dump
is the practice for dealing with contamination on brownfield sites
and entails export of the pollution to another site.

The
Ecomesh solution contains and remediates the contaminated soil
on site, avoiding the costs of transport and landfill dumping
charges, preventing further pollution. Once the treatment cell
void is filled with the contaminated soil, it is capped, and the
area can then have a variety of end uses – carparks, gardens,
or even lakes can be built over the sealed cell. When treatment
is complete the decontaminated land restores land value –
we turn brown field to greenfield.

 Landfill
Benefits. The Ecomesh system is also ideal for construction
of new or extension of old or existing Landfill sites. Leachates
are contained by the self healing clay barrier materials, and
the unique vertical sides increase the usable volume by at least
33%.

Landfill Installations, the 33% Advantage

Landfill
Extensions, 33% Additional Volume

Existing landfill sites can also be extended upwards, with a 33%
volume advantage over traditional extension systems, minimising
the area of land required for the extension.
The same vertical extension technology can also be used to extend
existing bentonite slurry walls, preventing overflow of leachate
and surface contamination creep.

 THE
ECOMESH SOLUTION
The Ecomesh solution is a lower initial capital cost alternative
than traditional methods of waste disposal, with significant legislative
and taxation advantages and lower overall environmental impact.
The concealed treatment cells can be overbuilt with useful carparking
or landscaping, offering greater public acceptance and utility.

When
compared with traditional remediation methods the contaminated
material is treated more expediently with future liability issues
and the potential for secondary contamination reduced or eliminated.
The unique vertical modular construction significantly increases
cell capacity and a smaller cell footprint for the treatment cell
yields the same saleable void space for the landfill operator
at less capital expense at the outset. All of this technology
is supported by world class biochemical research and analysis.
