The treatment centre will undertake:
- Soil washing
- Biological treatment
- Fine particle separation
- Thermal disorption
The material entering the system goes through several different processes that separate and segregate various different sized products for re-use in the construction industry.
The fines are passed through different reactors depending on specific contamination found in the original material. These processes utilise indigenous bacteria found in the feedstock being treated. In order to maximise biological action the material entering the batch bio-reactor must be consistent in both particle size and water content to minimise the degradation timeframe.
The capacity of the treatment train depends on the specific material to be remediated; however at the front end the maximum capacity exceeds one hundred tons per hour.
After treatment the material is dewatered and can be used in other systems such as the creation of hydro-insulation screens.
